A Woman's Perspective ~ Home Plan Makeover
Shelly found her ideal home plan; she made a few tweaks and now it's perfect!
Homeowner's Profile: Shelly and Ron are empty nesters who were financially able to take early retirement. They selected a plan that would accommodate their needs as
they aged in place and also include a guest room with a private entrance for long visits.

Modifications Shelly made to the Somerdale, #5466:
- Enlarged the garage space to 24' by 24'.
- Squared off the back of the home, increasing the size of the great room, the kitchen and the breakfast area and adding a corner, walk-in pantry.
- Added an island with a sink, dishwasher and snack bar.
- Moved the fireplace to the corner of the great room, opening up the living and entertaining space.
- Redesigned the rear foyer to include a half bath, drop zone and nice closet.
- Stretched the width and length of the master bedroom to accommodate a king size bed, triple dresser and armoire. Also added a coffee bar.
- In the master bath, provided a walk-in shower for easy access, plus a whirlpool tub with easily accessible faucets and a sprayer for ease in cleaning.
- Created a separate outside entrance next to Bedroom 2 to provide more privacy for the guest room.
- Enlarged all doors to three feet.
